I remember how your
touch always left me
fulfilled
but yet
I wanted
more.
You have always been
my escape…
the light at the
end
of the tunnel.
If you look inside
your heart
I AM SURE
you’ll find
a part of me.
I left it there
for you
so you’ll always know…
Magic always does happen
when you
love.
I love you, Sam.
See you later!

How lovely that Frodo should describe Sam as his light. We know that is such a powerful metaphor for him, who was lost in such terrible darkness. I pictured Sam facing Shelob here, with the Phial. He is a beacon of light in so many ways.

I can hear Frodo's quiet, matter-of-fact tones in this, see his sweet reassuring smile at the Grey Havens. Of course he left a part of himself with Sam. Sam has everything that meant the most to Frodo - their story in the Red Book, Bag End, the Shire's keeping, his memories, his heart.

I believe that is true! Thank you, and Happy Froday, Julchen!

Such a lovely poem, and so hopeful for their reunion over the sea.
