Do you know this? You are listening to a song in a foreign language and even you don't understand a single word you are so moved you can only but cry?
I got a new CD today from my roomie Wolfgang and it's sooo gorgeous.
All songs are in Spanish or Italian, languages I don't understand but it were these incredible voices (3 tenors and 1 baritone) making my heart beating faster...

The CD I'm talking about is called "The Promise" by Il Divo...

Amazing and very powerful. ..

If anyone's interested I would burn it for you, just let me know. It would be a pleasure to do it .

Good night, friends!
Sleep tight!

My eyes widened at "Il Divo". My cat breeder, a spunky woman of 86 very into her faith, recently sent me a link to Il Divo singing "Amazing Grace" a capella, at the Coliseum (or a similar ancient venue) in Rome. I'd never heard of them before (since I live under a rock). They were very, very impressive -- sort of like "The Three Tenors" -- Pavarotti, Domingo, Carreras -- but cuter and a *lot* younger. I'm so glad you were swept away. Music has a way of doing that, when it's right for the listener.

Amazing grace sung by Il Divo is simply gorgeous. I watched a show a couple of weeks ago when I heard them the first time - the song "The Winner takes it all" was incredible. Like you, I'd never heard of them before (I'm living behind the moon and it didn't surprise me, LOL) and the power of their voices and the music blew me away. You're so right, they are much younger and soooo cute! There are few songs like this from various artists which swept me away. I just burned a CD for you, my dear. I hope you'll like it :-))

Have a lovely day!

What about you, your kitties and your family? Is everyone ok?

Oh, please don't spend all that postage sending a CD, Julchen. You are awfully sweet, but I hate you using your money that way. I can request the CD's from the library's loan program for free, if you tell me which songs you want me to hear. But if you've already sent it, I will treasure it. :)

Don't worry, babes - it isn't that expensive :-))
I won't tell you which of the songs I love most, I'm sure you'll know it when you're listening :-))
Pssst, it's already on the way to you... Enjoy!

I know exactly what you're talking about. Music from Black Hawk Down eats me, along with the band Dead Can Dance (who's singer SINGS the BHD song). Let us cuddle in copious amounts!! *cuddles in copious amounts*!

I have their Ancora CD but haven't listened to it in ages... it was a gift a few years ago. You've inspired me to give it another try this week!

Awww, that kitten is soooo cute!!!

I remember singing songs in English when I didn't understand a word of it and was just going by the sounds. It's strange when you hear them again later when you speak the language and understand what the song was about. Sometimes it's amazing, sometimes it's disappointing... :D
