Last week I read an article about our animal shelter.
A biker found a little kitten - about 3 months old - in a garbage can. He took it to the animal shelter and they were shocked (so my friend said). Most of her fur was gone, she was nothing but skin and bones, had a massive cat flu. I went to the shelter last Wednesday and I was shocked, too. I never saw a little kitten in such a bad state.
To make a long story short - I decided to bring her home as soon she'd have left the quarantene.
Today was the day! And now the little darling - we called her Micky at once - is sitting at my lab, purring since she came home (about 8 hours ago) and I'm soooo happy!
I'm sure she'll become a beautiful cat very very soon, though to me she already IS a beauty.
My other cats love her, too.

She was almost starved to death and because she had nothing to eat, she stayed very little (even smaller than our little Luna) and her teeth stayed that small, that she isn't even able to use them. She can only eat soft wet food. But she loves my Papa to bits! As soon as he enters the room, she hops on his lap, though she actually hides behind the sofa from everyone else.
Wie geht es Dir eigentlich, Julchen? Ist bei Euch da unten noch alles im grünen Bereich? Ich hege ja noch immer die Hoffnung, dass wir uns mal irgendwann treffen.

Date: 2009-09-21 10:24 pm (UTC)From:Heute musste ich Luna einschläfern lassen wegen Nierenversagen. Die letzten Tage waren sehr schwer für sie und heute Nacht kam sie nochmal zu mir gekrabbelt um sich zu verabschieden. Heute Morgen hat sie kaum noch reagiert und ich konnte sie nur noch erlösen lassen. Aber für sie ist es das Beste.
Meine 3 kleinen und meine 3 älteren Katzendamen halten mich aber ganz schön auf Trab und das ist auch gut so.
Ich drück uns auch die Daumen, dass wir uns mal treffen. Man könnte fast meinen wir lebten meiiiiilenweit voneinander entfernt. Aber: Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt!
Geht's dir gut, Spatzl?
