Eyes of a Friend
When my heart’s feeling broken
and my spirit’s lost its wings
When the road is full of puddles
and my step has lost its spring
There is someone there to count on
who repairs my broken heart
and gives me wings to fly
and I make a brand new start
A special one who doesn’t judge me
or criticize the things I do
Someone who makes me take a look
and see me through the eyes of you
When this happens I am lifted
to a place that’s far above
from the darkness to the light
to a place that’s full of love
When I see me through your eyes
things are really not so vile
I thank God for you, my friend
as my frown becomes a smile

thank you so much! If you could see into my heart, you'd know how much your words are appreciated. That's a pretty heady thing, to be someone's favorite poet. But...poets experience birthdays the same as anyone else, I suppose....or maybe they're more morose, being so often on the shadow'd side of the Muse. But for me, it's been a quiet and happy b'day. It's calm and lovely here at home, the moon already visible in the sky and the sun making little *dots* of light on the window-shades. It's just a little cool, (being almost six thirty here, and fairly close to the ocean)but pleasantly so. Music is playing, and it feels like a gentle tide, pulling me to a place of peace. Nothing crazy today, just the *small* and *simple* things I love best. Tomorrow I'll try and write the mathom i meant to get to today.....
keep a watch on your mail, btw, dear....for i believe there are hobbits in your future....
