What a week!

4 weeks ago we got a newbie. She's called Leonie. We got her from the animal shelter where she lived for about 4 years (much too long). Wolfgang found her on the internet and it was the moment when we knew - this little one needed a new home. She was very shy and nervous, we didn't see her for days. It was a good thing that I had to spend nearly 3 weeks at home so she could get used at leas to me. And that she did.
Last week she followed me step by step, her favourite place (besides my bed)is the kitchen. There are so many things to discover, to play with and to enjoy - the shyness slowly fades away. Yesterday she gave permission to me stroking her for 3 times. What an incredible feeling! And she's a singer, talking to me all the time. Now and then she's spitting and scratching but only once the day :-))

Then I had to go to the vet with one of my older cats, Frida - to get one tooth removed. She's doing well and this morning she ate that much as if she would be starving.

and so is Leila - she's soooo wonderful. She was as shy as Leonie and now she's almost glued to us,

I'm sure you remember the tailless cat - Josh - we've found 2 years ago.
Last night I could hear him screaming, he didn't come home for 10 days and I learned just yesterday that a women locked  him up. I got up and walked in the dark at 2.am. for about 1 hour until I could free him. What an image. He was so thin, eyes swollen and 2 legs broken so I visited the vet and all he could do was putting him to sleep because the injuries were too bad. 
After this I called the police and  indicated the crime. One of the other neighbours saw this 'lady' beating Josh and he did ... nothing! But thanks to God he told me about it and he'll testify against her. They are on their way to me. I'm sad and angry. I can't understand that people can be so cruel.  I never will.
But now Josh is on a better place. I can see him sitting beside my father (who loved cats as much as I do) snuggling on his lap and enjoying the peace around him. But I'll miss him as much as I miss my other cats who're joining my dad.
Hey Dad, take good care of this little sweetheart.

And now the policemen are here. I'll keep you informed.

Poor Josh, so glad you found him so he could at least have peace at the end. What's wrong with that woman? Happy you called police so at least she can't do this to others.

The police was here for about 1 hour and they were sure the woman will get what she deserves.
I'll never stop to fight for the rights for animals.
Never ever!

I'm so sorry to hear about Josh. I don't understand how anyone can do this to another fellow being. *hugs*

She's just a crazy old woman and she'll get what she deserves (so the policemen said).

I'm glad Leonie is here now though she's having a bad day today. She's trying to get the Queen here - but Frida had a word with her and now it's silent :-))

Oh, poor Josh! I had been thinking about him recently and was wondering how he was doing, but I never expected anything like this. It breaks my heart that anyone could be so cruel to an animal.

I'll never understand such behavior. But now he's safe my poor little baby. That makes things easier.

Can you imagine? After the police left me and visited her she came to my house all spitting and swearing like a trooper. But she'll get the rightful punishment (the police said so).
I'll never stop to fight for the rights of animals.
There will be a newspaper article on Monday or Tuesday. This won't help Josh but knowing him safe makes me feel better.

My door is always open for poor little animals who need help. We had a time where 15 cats lived with us (only old and ill cats), I lost 12 of them the last years. 3 cats only? I didn't buy new ones, 2 little babies found their way to us themselves, 3 we got from the animal shelter. Bibi, Leila and Leonie are those kind of cats no one would take because they are not trusting enough. That's true at the beginning but looking at Bibi and Leila now I can feel how grateful they are and how lovingly they are 'talking' to me (I know you know what I'm going to say). Bibi is nearly glued to Wolfgang and me and never leaves our side when we're at home. And so is Leila. I believe it won't last long until Leonie feel more comfortable and she'll trust us some day. She doesn't like strokes so I don't do it. Our time will come :-))

That's horrible about Josh. Glad you were able to find him and that you have contacted the police about the woman's terrible behavior.

Your other cats are adorable and so lucky to have wonderful people like you to care for them.

Poor Josh! What the F*** is that bitch's problem? I hope she gets locked up for this. As for the neighbor who saw it and did nothing, I don't have much sympathy for him either. He should have come to you after it happened, not waited 10 days for you to find Josh. I have to wonder if he was somehow involved too...

Maybe when I'd have learned what happened at day 1 the vet could have rescued him. Believe me, it was a very wordy day. I talked to the police, to the neighbor and the 'lady' came at my house and started yelling! Unbelievable, isn't it? It wouldn't be my business - I don't get angry, REALLY angry, very often but this time I couldn't hold back - I nearly kicked her out of the door. But she'll pay for it (the police said so).

Our newbie is a pirate, always curious, adventurous and scratching, LOL. At the moment she's in my bed sleeping like an angel but this can change every minute :-)) But it's much better than the weeks before. I'm sure she'll trust us one day.

Oh nein, was ist bloss mit solchen Leuten? Ich meine, man muss Katzen ja nicht mögen, das muss man wohl respktieren, aber das ist doch kein Grund eine hilflos Kreatur so zu quälen. Und leider, leider gibt es solche Geschichten immer wieder ... armer, kleiner Josh.

Darum habe ich immer gesagt, ich will keine Katze haben, es würde mich wahnsinnig machen, wenn sie mal nicht nach Hause kommt und ich weiß nicht, was passiert ist. Zum Glück ist Tiger eine richtige Drinnenkatze geworden - wenn ich auch manchmal ein schlechtes Gewissen habe deswegen.

Ich kann's auch nicht verstehen. Ich mag keine Mäuse und Hamster und würde Ihnen deshalb niiiie etwas antun.
Ich habe lange mit zwei netten Polizisten gesprochen und die waren genau so außer sich, wie ich. Der dicke Hund kommt jetzt - nachdem sie bei der besagten 'Dame' waren kam die direkt bei uns vorbei und hat geflucht, geschimpft und sich recht ... sagen wir mal... ungnädig ausgedrückt. Ich werde selten wütend, sehr selten aber ich hab sei regelrecht aus dem Haus geschrien, so laut, dass es schon fast einen Massenauflauf in unserer Straße gab. Was ihr natürlich gar nicht gepasst hat. Aber sie wird dafür bezahlen und das nicht zu knapp (haben jedenfalls die Polizisten gesagt). Recht muss Recht bleiben und wenn ich mich nicht für Josh eingesetzt hätte, es hätte ja sonst keiner getan.
Meine Katzen sind alles Indoor-Katzen und ich habe kein schlechtes Gewissen. Ich hätte keine ruhige Minute, wenn ich sie nicht in sicherheit wüsste. Aber so warten sie auf mich, streichen mir um die Beine und schnurren und miauen so ich ich das mag.
Ich hab mich oft gefragt, wie's deinem Tiger geht. Ist er denn ruhiger geworden? Poste doch mal ein Bild, ich würde ihn gerne wieder mal sehen.

Though, it's good to know that you succeeded on freeing Josh and be there for him when he needed. I'm sure he's gone happier.

She is a bitch! Truth must be told but she'll get what she deseves - maximum penalty on cruelty to animals, so the police said. He's surely on a better place now and my father is taking care of him.

Frida - she's such a darling and usually doesn't look that grumpy. I guess she just had toothache still. At the moment she's laying on Wolfgang's stomach and they both are snoring like mad !
I'm sure Leonie just needs some time to get used to her new home.

Thank you, prim. I don't understand why people are doing this but this 'lady' will get what she deserves. I had a long conversation with the police and they were as shocked as I was. I have to go to the police department on Tuesday to make it 'official' they said. I'll fight for my little Josh, who would do it if I won't...

I love my cats, all of them and it's me being the lucky one to be their guest.
