Look who woke up today ...
Now we have to feed them until their weight is the same as before winter.
Actually there are 12 hedgehogs in our little gardenhouse but 10 of them are sleeping still.

Today was fantastic! Sunny, warm so guess who gave me a helping hand in the garden?
Goodness, I forgot about the bones on spots I didn't know there ARE bones.
But after 8 hours I was done and hungry.
I just finished a cake for the neighbour , it looks like this
and now up with me it's cat time
Have fun, enjoy sun and rain, ice cream and the first strawberries!

I was just looking up hedgehogs and lamenting that they only live in the UK. They're so cute!

Date: 2012-03-17 11:47 pm (UTC)From:When they wake up they have lost much weight and we have to feed them until they are strong enough. They prefer cat food the most and in only takes 2 weeks until we can let them out. I wish you could see this, it's spectacular when they are running (they are really running) around in the garden and some of them are coming back in autumn. One of the hedgehogs is now 7 years old and he's coming at the beginning of November, sitting in front of the little hut and of course he crawls in (he IS fat) and falls asleep at once, LOL.

Date: 2012-03-19 05:29 am (UTC)From:The difficulties for their winter sleep is the temperature - it has to be not to warm and not too cold, it should be the same as outside so our garden hut is the perfect place. I just looked after them and it seems the next three are going to wake up. But maybe they just turned around - their snoring is incredible. Our cat Minzie hypnotize them every morning but she never touches them 'a burnt child dreads the fire', LOL.
So here, my dear, here's a big slice of cake for you. It's easy to make, very delicious and quickly done!
Weekend was pretty warm and sunny and yes, I enjoyed it very much.
