This is really lyrical, the head among the stars, the eyes closed up against the moonlight . Little elements of the whole picture wind around my imagination like the flow of the cigarette.

There is a feeling of deep peace and homecoming in this. The certainty and relief of being with

someone
Who thanks God
For me.

That is the serenity of being known for who you are. I feel that Zeke asking if he's happy isn't so much a real doubt but needing to hear him say it, to assure himself that he's provided all that he can for his love to feel this way, to hear his own happiness echoed back to him. It's wonderful that they have each taught each other the meaning of happiness.
